Does your staff or faculty know how to handle a situation involving a child with autism or an autism spectrum disorder?
Is your department or facility prepared with strategies, tactics and supports to manage the implications of these disorders?
Most potential clients answer “No” to both these questions, and this is why I designed autism specific training for the following professions:
· Fire, Rescue & EMS
· Law Enforcement
· Juvenile Justice
· Coordinators & Managers
· Educators
· Clinicians
· Others: government, recreation providers, non-profits, etc.
Fire, Rescue, EMS, law enforcement and juvenile justice professionals are educated as to what autism is, how it is manifested, the implications on various dynamics such as: search & rescue, mandated reporting, interviewing a witness/victim/suspect, and a host of other discipline specific challenges.
Coordinators and managers are educated as to the most needed, available and necessary support, services and resources, while learning about autism, autism spectrum disorders and the effects of these on the family unit.
Educators are provided with everything from general disability etiquette and awareness to modality specific sessions.
Clinicians become part of ACT, the CDC’s autism awareness campaign, and support staff learn how to best work with a patient that has an autism spectrum disorder.
Autism specific training applies to almost any discipline, so if your profession is not listed above, contact me directly to discuss your needs.
All trainings are customized to fit participant needs. Here’s what some past participants have to say:
