Here is what you can find at AC if you are a parent or care-giver:
1. Support – the bulletin board is now a blog, so you can instantly post, reply and discuss any topic you’d like (obviously, nothing inappropriate, spam, you know the deal). Simply go to the home page, click on any ‘recent post’, or scroll to the bottom of any page in this site – you can blog everywhere.
2. Socialization & Support – adult meet-ups in the community offer us a way to get together and socialize, which ultimately equals support. During the summer months these are not held, but if you have a group of 5 or more, email me and we can discuss running one in your area; anywhere in the world.
3. Private Consultation, Education & Training – I work with families on a one to one basis to identify and achieve real-life, everyday goals they have for their child and their entire family. We focus on gaining support from school and community resources. Together we target specific strategies to implement, and prioritize goals to match the long-term vision of everyone involved.
In other words: we determine what skills, or goals achieved, will have the biggest impact on this child’s life or the life of this family, then we identify what the result literally looks like, strategize how we’re going to meet the goal, and implement immediately.
I also provide families with one time sessions to focus on a specific topic or program. I often speak or conduct trainings at parent groups and associations. There are many other ways AC can help, and I’m willing to try just about anything, so utilize the contact page if you do not see what you are looking for.
If you are looking for a resource, try posting your request on the home page!
